I saw it. I liked it.
I went into the movie with only moderately high expectations.. It seems from what I have read, that everyone who lied it, really liked it; and everyone who didn't, really disliked it. There doesnt seem to be a lot of middle ground.
So with that apprehension weighing on me, I went in expecting to be entertained, and in that expectation I was far from disappointed.
For a bit more opinion, which may contain spoilers, read on...
Among the many criticisms leveled at the movie, notably by Scott Kurtz is that the fight scenes kind of dragged. I agree, partly because of the trailers containing some of the best scenes from them. I found myself waiting, during the Neo vs Agent Smith (and his buddies Agents Smith, Smith, Smith, Smith, etc) scene for him to get the length of pipe and start swinging. Then once he did, it was still a little anticlimactic.
The movie could have lost a short to medium amount of length in some scenes, and probably not suffered for it. The party at Zion, the grand melee, maybe a little bit from the highway chase..
Still, I never really found myself _bored_ by these scenes, but they began to skirt the edge of how long things can go before I start to expect something new to start happening.
By the way of philosophy, the movie continues asking a number of questions which philosophers have been asking for aeons. I'm not too deeply into contemplating these, they are more background than foreground to me, but they are well-presented, often in innovative ways in the film.
Overall, I enjoyed the ride, and I'll likely go into the third movie with a similar level of expectation.
